"What We Said Was"

In Washington yesterday, President Obama said:  "Now, if you have or had one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law and you really liked that plan, what we said was you can keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law passed." That claim is simply not true.  Dozens of times, he told Americans -- without any qualification -- that they could keep their plans.  For example, here is what he told the American Medical Association National Conference on June 15, 2009.
If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.
And as of 5:40 AM PST today, the White House website was still making the unqualified version of the claim:
